Collecting the best of Steve Hitchell's work as Sons Of The Dragon together with an unreleased live mix and DEMF 2002 version Sons of the Dragon was an anonymous project from a highly respected exponents of Detroit-associated deep techno goodness - now outed as the work of Steve Hitchell. The tracks slip neatly into the canon of authentically deep Detroit styles, with opener 'Detroit Matrix' harking back to Kenny Larkin's A.R.T gear to the 'SP12Mix' and 'Dancing Stars' nodding to 'Deep Space' era Juan Atkins. The second disc looks towards Convextion style dub techno applications, with two long tripping tracks built with an intuitive flow from vintage drum machines and tailored with spectral dub chords and infinitely filtered passages leading to Detroit nirvana for the more esoteric heads. The final cut 'The Journey' is the finest track in the pack and fixes a massive Maurizio or Mike Huckaby styled bassline to the finely channeled Detroit feelings for the pack's best moment. -Boomkat

As played and featured in mixes by Juan Atkins (Model 500), Derrick May & Francois K.
